TORRANCE, Calif. -- Honda is recalling more than 330,000 vehicles due to a potential mirror safety hazard, the Associated Press reported. Speed Bumps In Neighborhoods
The recall is due to heating pads behind both side-view mirrors, which may not be properly secured to the mirrors. That hazard could lead to mirror glass falling out and, in turn, a higher likelihood of an accident on the road.
The 330,000-plus Honda vehicles being recalled include Odyssey models from 2020 to 2022; Passport models from 2020 to 2022; Pilot models from 2020 to 2021; and Ridgeline models from 2020 to 2021.
These vehicles do not comply with the necessary rear visibility requirements for drivers, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Honda owners affected by this recall will have their side-view mirrors replaced free of charge, AP reports, and owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 8.
In the meantime, affected Honda owners can contact the company’s customer service at 1-888-234-2138 or the NHTSA vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
